Good morning. I have been doing some teaching at University as an adjunct. Anybody else in Academia in the UK, either in teaching/research or in a professional role? I would love to connect and discuss how MS is affecting our career. Thank you.

I wasn’t aware, JP, that you were also a colleague. I held a senior professional role in academia for several years, but now I focus solely on teaching. I work part-time and teach online, which is quite convenient.
I’m currently trying to transition into local academia, as I’m teaching at an international university. Are you, by any chance, a fellow of the Higher Education Academy? I’m quite disappointed that they don’t offer a discount for professionals with disabilities. I would like to apply to become a fellow, but I feel the HEA could do more to support disabled professionals in Academia.
My employer doesn’t know about my MS, and I’ve been managing to keep it hidden since I work entirely online. I feel that we, as disabled academics, are underrepresented. Do you miss Academia? If you don’t mind me asking, could you message me the name of your employer? I’m still applying for jobs, and it would be helpful to know which institutions are supportive. Thank you.
