Just found out I have mild anaemia. My red blood cells have been steadily falling for the last year or so, the last few tests have fallen into the abnormal range.
GP has now asked me to make an appointment about it.
I take tecfidera and also Omeprazole (for a non-MS issue).
Those on tecfidera have your red blood cells been affected?
My husband was just diagnosed with severe anemia and the doc wants him to have colonoscopy, which for him his near to impossible, the preparation and also procedure, because he can hardly walk, sit down or lay down for a long time.
The GP, who we don’t know and have never seen told us this via telephone consultation, and he was not aware of my husband’s primary progressive MS.
Peter,my husband does not show any signs of bowel cancer, even had a bowel screen test wich turned out negative. We are in complete limbo now.
Gosh I am sorry to read this. I am sure they could offer sedation given his condition? I know it’s not a great solution but may be better than nothing. Awful they did not realise he had ms. The state of our health service at the moment does scare me. I really hope you are seen soon and out of limbo as quickly as can be. Much love xxx
Tecfidera left me with a low lymphocytes white blood count but nothings ever been said to me about anaemia. I’ve been getting monthly blood tests for a year now and my bloods haven’t improved so hopefully yours are better behaved than mine!!
