Basically I have 2 brain lesions 2 bands in spinal fluid, lots and lots of MS specific symptoms, family history ,a diagnosis of Multiple sclerosis from my neurologist 4 years ago nearly, but last time I visited him over a year ago he acted like he never diagnosed me with it, any ideas why?
So is he saying that you don’t have MS?
That’s really weird, is he a MS specialist or neurologist? Did you get diagnosed on NHS or private, and did you get started on any treatment?
What area of the country are you in, people on here might be able to advise you of other MS Neurologists you can request a second opinion of that they are under.
@Sandgrowner1 all very confusing. So when he said that you have MS did he discuss Disease Modifying Treatments? Or just leave you to get on with things?
He’s NHS he’s a general neurologist in UK , I don’t want to be negative about him I think it may just be embarrassment about him going in too quickly with a diagnosis that’s all, but curious if this is becoming more normal.
Basically he said the treatments probably wouldn’t suit me and did another MRI to see if I had any new lesions, but I don’t, I’m just thinking it may be normal to under diagnose now for some reason and he felt he had to back track, wished he’d told me that though.
I really think you need to be looked at by a MS specialist under your NHS trust or alternatively seek one via the private route (who works both private and NHS), they are the experts. Your case should have gone to a MDT meeting upon your results where treatment would have been discussed by the ones who can authorize it.
Thanks for the reply, I’m hoping it follows my grandmothers course, if I find I’m getting much worse I definitely will consider that. Thank you.
