Hi all, I yesterday saw the pain specialist who has taken me off Tapentadol (which has made no difference to leg pain levels) and he has put me on Nabilone to see if that helps.
Is there anyone who is currently, or has previously taken Nabilone for pain management?
Any response positive or not would be welcomed.
Thanks
Congratulations on being prescribed Nabilone. The pain specialist I used to be under wanted me to be on it but the local PCT would not allow it…Paranoia about cannabanoids and £. Instead I am on Butrans morhine patches.,and am now nicely addicted and 'cos there is no chance of Sativex,I smoke the ‘substitute’ at night so I can sleep.
You might struggle to get any feedback from here, but t’internet might be of some help.

Wb… thankyou for your congrats. Seems that where I live have some spare cash to keep me in their experimental drugs campaign. So far I have been taking max dose Pregabalin for years and have topped up with Tapentadol and now have just started Nabilone. Maybe it will be Sativex next if finances are good but I would rather be drug free and pain free but that’s life…
Karen51…I would be glad to let you know my progress if it helps. I am starting a four week course with a first week of .5mg dose moving to 1mg a day. .
Dredging up this thread as it’s the only place I could fine reference to Nabilone… my Rehab mentioned it to me earlier, he said I didn’t need Satvex just yet as spasms not too bad in the grand scheme BUT I really wasn’t getting on with Baclofen/Tizanidine/Dantrolene (bad side effects) so it might be a better opton, I think he wants me to try Gabapentin first. We shall see, I’d love to hear if and how others get on with it please?
It’s kind of man-made cannabanoid and I wouldn’t have classed my niggles as pain but actually, they are classed as such, I’m nt quite the wuss I aways thought I was.
