Hi Kazza

I think that once you have ms, which is auto immune, then quite a few

have other auto immune which includes diabetes as well.

Has the gp referred him to a neurologist? That would be the first port of call if the Dr suspected a neurological problem.

Sorry if this is jumbled, I am so tired and just wanted to reply first, I am sure you will get more replies tomorrow.

Hi Kazza,

There are people with MS that have diabetes but I think regardless of the diabetes you should ask your GP to refer your partner to a neurologist.

Good luck,

Hi Pam

Many thanks for taking the time to respond. GP is really good and has a great reputation, so I don’t want to be seen as questioning her judgement. I actually wrote a letter about a year ago and listed all him symptoms whilst he was waiting for blood test results. In a way so that she could consider all the symptoms alongside his blood results. She did then assess him, but I think he is playing down his symptoms as he is scared. I feel exasperated with him to be honest! I think it may be that he will collapse and be hospitalised before something is done.

I can’t believe she is not making a referral now to a neurologist. His diabetes is not under control and his high BP is not coming down. He is on Ramapril and Amilytripiline and metaformin, but she has now just given him amlodipine (sore legs) however he is reluctant to take this for some reason argh…
