*Hello everyone, I was diagnosed with ms 4 years ago I have relapsing-remitting MS in the past 4 years I have had 1 MRI scan on my brain but not spin I saw me neurology doctor yesterday and shy refuses to send my for MRI scan Because I have had no relapse it that normal ?? How often should a ms patient have a MRI scan is it only when I have a relapse??
Probably another postcode lottery. If you have not deteriorated why would you need a scan, if you have a scan may help with identifying the reason.
COVID will have meant there is a backlog
If your MS is quiet, there probably wouldn’t be much to see. It is more typical to scan when there are clinical signs of relapse activity that suggest that a DMD or a new DMD is needed.
It’s probably a bit of a postcode lottery but I get an annual scan although I’ve never had one of my spine ( I will ask why next time I see the MS Nurse!)
