Hi, I am fairly new to this and have only posted once before.
If I can just explan a bit about what has been going on with myself and then see if anyone has any advice and if they think I could have MS?
Basically back in August I woke up one day with deafness in my left ear and severe dizziness. I went backwards and forwards to the doctors being told all different things it could be. After still having it a few months I eventually got referred to a ENT (Ear, nose & Throat) Consultant who gave me a hearing test which showed the hearing loss in the left ear and sent me for a MRI Scan.
I have been back today for the result and he said I have lots of “White Areas” on the brain. Multiple high T2 signals in the white matter of both cerebal hemispheres. He is referring me to a Neurologist, for further test and said I will probably have a lumber puncture? He said it could be ME??
I don’t feel ill and the dizziness is now not to bad although I have good and bad days. If I go to a shopping centre it makes the dizziness really bad and I get very tired where I have to go home to sleep.
Does this sound like MS to anyone??
Hi and welcome.
I am not DX with MS and have seen multiple specialists. My first MRI reported 7 lesions mostly on T2 but the neuro dismissed MS immediately and told me i was just depressed which is rubbish.
Any way, the most probable dx i have had to date is a vestibular condition diagnosed by 2 ENT speciakists.
. Your symptoms of dizzyness and ear problems are very similar to mine so i was wondering if your ENT guy has mentioned anything like that to you?
I also have many other symptoms with pins and needles and weakness in my legs so they don’t think the vestibular thing is my only problem,
I’m seeing an ONT neuroligical professor on Thursday to look at my balance and gearing problems and the other symptoms.
Don’t worry yourself about MS yet, vestibular conditions can cause lesions so take one thing at a time. Its a long and frustrating road to any kind of DX so be pepared for the long game.
In terms of ME, this something I have looked into only recently and the dizzyness is nore likely to be present with Me than MS (apparantly).
I’m glad your dizzyness has settled a bit, you have my sympathy, it is horrible.
Goodluck with further tests and results, kepp us posted.

Hi, thanks for your reply.
No the ENT consultant said I just need to see a Neurologist?
Before all this happened I had been to the doctors thinking I could have ME as I had severe tiredness for 3 weeks where I could not even walk! Then that passed so ruled it out and then not much after that I started with the hearing loss and dizziness.
What is DX I am new to this and dont know all the short terms?

PS. Sorry just read my first post and I said the ENT Consultant said I could have ME that was a typing error of mine he actually said it could be MS
