Advice with Modafinil

Hi
I am just looking for advice as I have just started taking Modafinil. It was prescribed to me for fatigue after my neurologist suggested that the Feroglobin i was taking for fatigue was just a placebo.
I am on day 3 of taking 2 a day although on day 2 i only took one. Today has been horrendous. The first morning dose was fine didn’t notice much but after taking the second tablet I found it hard to concentrate and do normal tasks effectively at work. I had trembling, felt sick and this then made me paranoid about the control the drugs were having on me. I have also had headaches everyday around the same time.
Is there anyone else taking these? I was hoping someone would be able to tell me that it will ease to be honest.
Although I have not felt extra awake as such I have found that later in the day when I am usually tired that i still have energy. Any advice would be welcome.

According to a trial modafinil is no better than placebo either. This is from the Barts Blog.

" Interpretation: Amantadine, modafinil, and methylphenidate were not superior to placebo in improving multiple sclerosis fatigue and caused more frequent adverse events* . The results of this study do not support an indiscriminate use of amantadine, modafinil, or methylphenidate for the treatment of fatigue in multiple sclerosis."

Hi Whammel, sorry have been having problems getting into my account since you posted.
I have moved off Modafinil now as was having really bad stomach cramps, I am positive this was a direct problem from Modafinil. I’ve just started on the other one mentioned in your study Armantadine. Any ideas of things you can suggest that will help instead?

It sounds daft, but in my case exercise is the only thing that helps with fatigue. I guess it depends on what is causing the problem in the first place.
