Advice re Tecfidera/covid-19

Sorry in advance for asking something you regular members have probably been asked a million times. I have just joined and not very good with technology (tried to search and couldn’t find the answer). I have been avoiding all news due to my extreme anxiety (single parent trying to stay sane through this).

My question is this: my MS nurse says I do not need to self isolate, but I take Tecfidera and I have seen the government page which says I’m vulnerable. I’m so confused I’ve been in tears. Please be kind as I know it’s probably something you’ve been talking about for days but I’ve only just joined and I’m trying to understand what the h*ll is going on right now!

Good morning You should be fine with tecfidera and keep taking it. There was a link regarding the different treatments and tecfidera shouldn’t be stopped. But if you are still uncomfortable, and i understand it, call your medical team or call the MS hotline here on this page? https://www.mssociety.org.uk/about-ms/treatments-and-therapies/disease-modifying-therapies/covid-19-coronavirus-and-ms I was on tecfidera in the past, it was a great choice for me. Hi Teapot - it is all so confusing with mixed messages. As Katy says keep taking your tecfidera. But as Boris says stay at home.

We are not in the very high risk sector of society 1.5:million who will have got letters about social isolation. i wouldn’t get too hung up about the phrase social isolation. Just keep away from as many people as possible.

Hi been on it for 5 years.

As Min says stay at home and do not have visitors.

Just arranged my next visit and told the delivery driver will not ask you to sign.

Don,t cry we are all in this together.

You are pretty good at technology.

Stay happy Bertie.

Should say delivery not visit
