Hi everyone im hoping someone can give me advice or even just relate to what I’m experiencing. I was diagnosed back in January and started rebif 3 week’s ago. As im increasing the dose im becoming more aware of the symptoms in my left arm. Ive always had a dead feeling and pins and needles In it but its getting so much worse. One minute its like a dead weight then I get like a tightening feeling then pins and needles. Its really starting to worry me as I keep thinking I could be taking a stroke. I also have noticed that the nights I inject the pains in my legs are awful. Can anyone relate to this as im really worried about the wole arm thing xx
hi ruby
there are a range of neuropathic painkillers.
i take gabapentin, amitrytiline and tizanidine.
i asked my ms nurse what exactly they are for and she told me that tizanidine is for stiffness.
i forget what she said about the others. (duh, my memory is pants)
maybe you could ask your ms nurse about meds.
as for the injection sites, have you got a helpline for rebif?
i’m on copaxone and their helpline is staffed by copaxone nurses who are very helpful.
if you are really worried about a possible stroke, please see your gp.
good luck

I ended up at the out of hours doctors yesterday with the whole arm thing. I am taking Nurotripyline 20mgs at night but because they make me so drowsey I am going to take 10 mg during the day and 10 at night and hope that improves the pain. She said I wasnt taking a stroke which was very good news lol, she thinks that when the pain comes on am becoming anxious which is giving me palpations so she has advised me to take a propananol when I feel the palpatations coming on. I really hope things improve as I have a holiday comiong up in 4 weeks x
Thanks Carole
