Advice on tysabri washout period

Hi, just looking for some advice. I’ve been on tysabri 8 years and in December I had a chest infection and couldn’t take my tysabri. Sadly, the hospital I attend for my infusion are incredibly short staffed and couldn’t get me in for a further 5 weeks. I now have a tooth infection that will put me at 12 weeks post my last infusion. Reading online states that 8 weeks is wash out period? Is this correct? Does anyone know if 12 weeks without tysabri puts me in the danger zone for relapse?

Thanks and hope you are all well

I don’t know, but I really feel for you. Honestly, I think your priority is just to hurry up and get well and to get your next infusion as quickly as possible. Whatever the technical answer to your question is, there’s nothing more you can do than that, I’m afraid. Fingers crossed that all goes well for you. I am sorry that you have this worry to deal with at a time you’re feeling so unwell.

BTW I assume the you have confirmed for sure that your dental infection means that your infusion definitely can’t go ahead? These things are always a trade-off of risks and benefits, and if I were you I would certainly want to make me case to the MS nurse or whoever that the risks of being without the drug outweighed the risks of taking it.

It’s having dental work something else I have to worry about now I’m on tysabri ? Never crossed my mind and need some work or even a tooth extracted in future
