Just out of interest to myself, how many of you here had clear MRI scans before being eventually diagnosed? And how long did that take? Thanks J x
Hi, I got l’hermittes in 1991 and had an MRI scan and lumbar puncture. All was clear. In 2005 I had numbness and had another MRI which was clear. In 2008 more numbness (no MRI) but in 2011 had another MRI (development of spasticity) and lesion seen. BUT gone again in June 2013 and back again in October 2013! There is something going on but as yet no real clear cut dx !

Had mri in 2011 showed a couple of vague white spots on brain not really consistent with ms. April 2013 was dx with likely ms by process of illimination.
After a few relapses/ new symptoms had another mri which showed a couple of lesions on different parts of my spine. So April this year was given a definitive dx of ms and told to consider dmd’s because of the number of relapses within a couple of years.

First scan showed many lesions unfortunately. Had a huge relapse. Previous to that had a seperate vertigo episode, so they called that my first relapse. It’s like I have 10 years worth of MS lesions in my brain and all I have had is those two relapses. Anyway my poor brain and all those lesions but luckily the MRI report says no black holes/atrophy which is reassuring.
2012 numbness balance problems walking a problem after a long walk, had MRI lumber etc, they decided to start me on tablets, thinking good this will help!!! Got worse thinking now would I have been worse if just took paracetamol, makes you wonder, think I might stop and see what happens, lol
Hello, thought I’d put my two penneth in 
I’ve had MRI (lesions), all the typical symptoms and my own odd ones probably, then, now waiting for another MRI before I can be given treatment. Not sure if it’s down to cost of treatment or the other treatment I’m on. Xx
