a bit of advice please x

Hi I have been reading threads but never posted. I dont think i have ms but do have unexplained symptoms that are on going. The whole ms word got mentioned when i was admitted to hospital a few weeks ago. I had severe head pain at the back and pain in my left eye. Along with some vision issues and weakness in left side of body. I was in hosp for about 5 days. I had mri of brain and neck which dr said were fine. I didnt even know what they were investigating until another dr talked about possible lumbar puncture and ms. This was the first i even knew what they had been looking for. There was a neurologist on the ward and he came and had a word with me…albeit 5mins. He got me to do some reflexes and walking. Said it was not ms and probably a virus on my central nervous system and that once i had the all clear i would start to recover and to get back into my routine. He said he saw this as a one off and unlikely to develop into ms. Great. All happy that was nothing life changing and off i went. Still in pain though Anyway that was few.weeks ago. the head pain has definitely died down as had the eye pain unless i am out in the wind. Sorry for the long post but here is the bit for advice… i am still in lot of pain from the shoulders down. I have constant stabbing pains in left arm and leg and pins and needles in fingers and toes. I have pain down my spine and right at the tailbone. The pain there is more like labour pain I have been having loads more bladder movement and couple accidents. The dr gave me antibiotic for uti but hasnt really helped. I have constipation for the first time ever and when i push the muscles in my lower abdomen move and then jar and i have to sit and wait for them to go back to normal. This has happened before when i stretch. I have also had this before in the ball of my foot when i swim and i cant do anything with my foot until.it goes back to normal. I have tried to get into my routine and have been taking short walks with the dog and looking after.the kids. i have been off work for 4 weeks now and due back tomorrow. I work in call centre in the evenings and spend my whole 5 hr shift in the same position. I know i am.not able to do this as i am in so much pain at the moment but my work are growing a little impatient of it all. I have never been off sick before this I have dr this afternoon as this was the review period the hosp recommended. I am so frustrated as i am still struggling. I have only ever been told to take ibroprufen and paracetamol which do nothing. So is this likely a virus and my work will just have to accept there is no real diagnosis and just see about different forms of pain relief? Or should i ask or try and discuss further diagnosis of anything? So that i can work towards getting the right treatment to get better? As i said i dont think it is ms but i also.have a friend that has and she has said not to be palmed off with the hospital diagnosis as it could need more investigation and a proper referral and that if it is not ms it is something else that actually needs properly looked into Thanks for reading x

Hi there, Have they mentioned " traverse myelitus "? X

Thanks for the reply and am so sorry post was so long. Didnt realise that until seeing it No they have not mentioned that. Was at the dr and he went through the neurologist note and it said that it has likely been a virus of the cns caused by an infection or migraine. He thinks is one off incident at this stage. Dr has given me amatriptalin (excuse spelling) to see if that helps and that i just have to wait for symptoms to pass or at least get managable enough to be at work. If not then he will review it all with me In meantime just keeping a diary and hope my work can be a bit understanding. X
