5th covid jab … is it worth getting

Hi all james here been a member here for over 12 months now … I was diagnosed with rapidly revolving RRMS shortly after getting my first covid jab . I have had 4 jabs in total and have just been called for my 5th jab is it worth getting ? My MS started the morning after getting my first jab and I stand by that because I was fine and healthy before getting the jab

Hi James, ive had 5 Covid jabs too. Other than a sore arm at injection site ive been unaffected, neither has my RRMS.
Everything is about risk v benefit and for me the benefits outweigh the risk. I know people who lost their lives to Covid and from that perspective I’ll take the jabs. Good luck whatever your decision.

If i were you i would think twice.I had covid and i refused all vaccines from the start and always will.I knew having the jab would have caused me to have a relapse.Anything injected in to me causes a bad reaction and thats why i refused it.I refuse the flu jab each year too.i wish more people would wake up to the fact that they are no good.We have an immune system to fight viruses off.Yes some people get very ill with covid, plenty dont either. Me and my partner got covid at the same time, in January this year,he brought it home to me as i had been isolating for 2 years,i never left the house. He was fully jabbed and i did not have one,and he was a lot more ill than i was,and i have had MS for 30 years. The more i looked in to these jabs the more i was put off.It was my choice though i am not saying everyone should do what i did.I just wish people would think twice before been told to.

I’ve had 5, will be having 6th at the weekend. No issues ms wise whatsoever. Serious illness can trigger relapse so who’s to say a bad experience with the next strain of covid wouldn’t start one off? Then you’d be regretting not having the vaccine. It’s impossible to know but I made peace with the idea that experts out there know more than me and think I need it, so I’ll have it. Maybe I’m a sheep but takes the stress out of the decision and so far so good :crossed_fingers:
Good luck with whatever you decide to do xx

If you have not yet decided on whether to get the 5th Covid jab, it may be worth listening to the very recent long discussion on boosters on TWIV “This week in virology” between a group of virologists and Paul Offit, who advises the US government on them. Probably the most balanced discussion you are going to find on the internet, and may help you reach an informed decision.

Not sure whether the UK has yet rolled out the bivalent booster, or whether it is still just the original strain version.

Here’s the link. Discussion on the booster starts at 6’35’'.

When do you think they’ll start working ?
