Hi everyone this is my 4 relapses in 3 months, I spoke to the ms nurse and she told me to see my gp, I see him and he put me on the medrone for 5 days, I started them yesterday and feel like poo, my head hurts so much. All I keep hearing from the ms nurse is that I will be starting dmds soon. My next appointment with her is in 2 weeks for the results from lp. It feels like she keeps stalling it, every time I see her she sends me for more tests and tells me were start the dmds on my next vist.I wouldnt mind but they diagnosed me in December with rrms. I’m getting quit upset about all the waiting around, I want to start feeling normal again. Sorry for the rant.
Hi Lisa,
Are you quite sure it’s not all one relapse, dragging on?
Technically, I’m not sure it’s even possible to have four in three months, because unless you have 30 days’ remission in-between, they count it as still part of the same one.
I’ve had a relapse lasting approximately a year before - it was the one that finally led to my diagnosis. So although the average duration is five weeks, it’s possible to have one that hangs about a whole lot longer. And that doesn’t necessarily mean you won’t have any better days during it, but until you get 30 in a row (I think it’s 30 - could be 28), you’re counted as still in the same relapse.

[/quote] hi Tina thankyou for your information, I didn’t realise that thay could last that long, I’ve had so many bad days since November, then ever 3_4 I have major attack that needs medrone to ease the pain. No one has told.me they could last that long. I will be discussing this with the ms nurse in a few week. Thankyou again it makes me feel better about it all, because I just feel like a moaner up and down the docs every few weeks. Lol
Hi Lisa I was DX on Monday but my current relapse has been with me coming up 10 months although it is getting easier it’s still there , with bad & good days Take care Gray x

I agree with Tina, its probably 1 relapse, thats still ongoing,i have had a few that have lasted 9months to a year, maybe it feels like seperate ones, because you have a good few days, and then a bad few ones,on average mine take weeks to develop .then peak at around 7 weeks, then take another 5 to 6 weeks until i am feeling stronger.
Ahh thankyou so much I’m understanding it a lot better now, I just thought I was always I’ll due to the ms thing didn’t realise it’s just one relapse. There is light at the end of the tunnel lol.
