Undiagnosed, history of brain / spinal illness that include meningitis and neurofibromatosis. 23 M.
I believe that I might have Multiple Sclerosis and have been fighting various symptoms that coincide with what people with MS have, the main and paramount among this is brain fog and intimacy issues to the point where I’ve gave up all hope. For years I’ve been trying to get diagnosed with anything. I know something isn’t right and I’m not well. I’m turning 24 this month and it all started when I was 16, when the two symptoms described came onto me. Slowly over the years I find the brainfog worsening, but whenever I visit the doctors or my GP i can never get anywhere or close in on a diagnosis.
When I brought up the possibility of MS to him in 2020, he dismissed it without any tests in a manner that I can’t quite remember, but instead of further tests he wants to treat me for depression or ADD. I dismissed the prospect of MS until lately I’ve had the urge to wee a lot and constipation. Thing is, with my other two illnesses, one which has after effects and the other which is chronic, it’s harder to pay attention. I’ve always had a speech impediment, everyone gets shivers up their spine…
Lots of fatigue too but I have asthma which may be a cause, along with the occasional infection it can cause. Other symptoms too which I wonder if are now growing more evident or I’m now hyper vigilant off.
I have no real mobility issues in the 7 years I’ve had suspicions off potential MS. I went back to the doctors and only had time to deal with intimacy issues and the urine issue, going back for the brainfog tomorrow hopefully, but what can I do or say? In the UK, how can I get guaranteed a MI scan? I’m just so tired at this point. It’s changed who I am as a person and I’m a silent shell of myself.
