Hi
A few years back I had glandular fever and ever since then I would say I have not quite got back to myself. I have tried to exercise often and eat healthy but this doesnt make too much difference.
For many months I have been struggling with fatigue and this is getting worse, I feel I could sleep every afternoon and night. I have the following other symptoms.
Fatigue, dizziness when standing, occasional blurred vision feels like eyes shake quickly, some tingling/itching on legs, occasional hip and lower back pain and minor numbness, struggling with thinking clearly and organising, more recently constipation for 2-3 weeks now, less hard erections and longer to ejaculate.
Just want to know if this sounds like MS and what I should do.
thanks
chris
Not very, to be honest (but I know nothing about it or about you, of course). Most of the things you describe are pretty common in the general population and usually caused by less serious and more fixable causes than MS. Have you considered some sort of post-viral fatigue problem, for instance (not that those are any picnic either, but they’re a whole heap better than a chronic progressive neurological condition, that’s for sure). There are a host of things that can cause vague malaise and they are all an awful pest, but not necessarily serious.
What does your GP say? Have you asked? If not, then please do - unexplored worries about having a serious illness can cast a long shadow over a person’s life, whether he actually has it or not. And it might be something non-serious that can just be fixed, which would be a weight off your mind. Best consult the experts, and the GP is the place to start.
Good luck.
