Hi everyone , hope your all well. I have an appointment next week with wheelchair services, just wondering if anybody else has been to see them, what should I expect, and what do they do??
When I first went to wheelchair services they tried me with a self propel chair but it was not successful (left arm weakness) so then it was electric.
I tried out an indoor chair. They had a sort of obstacle course set up to see if I could drive it. They weighed and measured me and that was about it.
I had a home visit to see if all was OK for a chair and it was delivered some weeks later.
I now have an indoor/outdoor chair and the process was a bit more complex. I had to pass an eye test (at an opticians or the hospital) and a road test with the chair. The chair I have now is absolutely fantastic – I could never have afforded it myself.
