Well my life changes path tomorrow!!!!!

Hi all long time since I been on! Happy new year to u all! I have had my first delivery of Rebif today!!! My MS nurse is coming tomorrow to start my treatment with me. I have to say I am getting very nervous. I can see a night of no sleep tonight!!! Can anyone offer any tips? Many thanks Sweet cheeks xxx

Nothing to be nervous about, the injection itself is very small, I have been taking Rebif since October now and getting used to it now. Take some paracetamol the nights you do your injection to help with side effects and remember to rotate your injections sites, I get some lovely red bruise like marks around the injection sites but they don’t hurt just don’t look so attractive! I also find my body temperature increases the day after injecting but it doesn’t stop me doing anything - I just wear less layers! Hope that helps x

I started on avonex pen last friday 2nd dose tomorrow. The injections seem fine, no pain. Some side effects but thats to be expected. Are you using the rebismart? that was going to be my choice but avonex is once a week. You should get to practice first, with a sponge. Stock up on ibuprofen and paracetamol, best advice i got. Ask as many questions you can think of. But all in all their is nothing to it, you will be fine.

Thanks all! Yeah I am looking forward to this new path! Yeah I am using the rebismart. Looks quite a funky devise. Thanks all Sweetcheeks xx

Hi, I havee been using the Rebismart for a couple of years now.

Have had no problems at all with it.

Good Luck, you will be fine.

Started rebif with rebismart in sept. Was really nervous too but it’s very straightforward. Machine tells you what you need to do so you can’t go wrong. Good luck L xx

Hi, Started Rebif 6 weeks ago and rebismart is fab!! You can’t feel the injection at all, although it took me 10 mins to first press the button!! I am an unlucky one who does suffer with side effects but take lots of ibuprofen and paracetamol. My nurse says trick is to take them before injection and don’t stop!! I have to take them pretty much continuously as side effects carry on for whole of the next day. Have to say though it would never put me off enough to stop injections as each one is a chance of stopping this horrible disease. Good luck. Xx

Good luck, i should be getting my delivery in the next few weeks too! Hope you don’t get the horrid

side affects people talk about, this is the only bit that i’m not looking forward too.

I started copaxone last may and haven’t relapsed since.

So whatever your side effects at least every time you stick that needle in you can think–up yours MonSter.

Good luck

The Rebismart is a fab bit of kit. I moaned about having to change from self-injecting, but it was daft because the Rebismart really makes things easy.

The only disadvantage is if you have weak hands or wrists - or a tremor, as it’s hand sized and a little heavy.

You start at a tiny dose and titrate it up to the dose that your neuro has prescribed - either 22mcg or 44mcg.

I started on 44 straight away, as it was back in 2000 and Rebif had only just been licensed and wasn’t available everywhere.

In my case, it’s been absolutely wonderful. I never had the flu like, shivery side-effects and it slowed the relapse rate from every 8 weeks or so, to on average 1 relapse every 3 years.

I hope it works as well for you.

The only notable thing is that you’ll get injection marks - like huge red blotches. I don’t mind. It’s worth it to stay well.

Thanks all. I am awaiting my MS nurse in the next hour or so. Really nervous now. Although I feel I am not doing to bad considering I have a horrible fear of needles and only just starting to think about it. I will be on later and will let u all know how I get on. Thanks for the advise Sweet cheeks xxx
