Waiting diagnosis

Hello. I am 34 and 4 years ago I had numbness and tingling in my hands, legs, tummy, had a MRI and it showed a slight shadow but they said hey had nothing to compare it with so I needed a lumber puncture, they tried 3 times to do the lumber puncture and failed, this scared me and I never returned for another one, and over time my symptoms went away. Now 6 years 2 babies later the feeling has come back, when I was carrying my second child my legs and feet were achy and tingling, but as soon as I had my baby that disappeared, I have booked a appointment with the doctor but am so scared I could have MS. Feel very alone as I have no one to talk to. X

hi

don’t worry about ms as there are many other illnesses that mimic it as far as symptoms are concerned.

whatever it is needs diagnosing and treating because you can’t afford time off mummy duties.

if you are asked to go for another lumbar puncture ask your doctor to make absolutely sure that an experienced person does it.

that makes a big difference.

good luck and give your babies a cuddle from me

Hi Carole Thanks for replying. I guess I worry because of the slight I say shadow sure they called it something else. Was present on the MRI last time. My hands have never been the same they have always had a tight feeling. I am tired but not to the point I can’t do anything. My legs/tummy feels tight I wouldn’t say numb it’s hard to explain the feeling. I know I look at the symptoms of ms and I think I have all related so that’s why I am scared. Your right with regards to lumber puncture, wonder if I need one or if they would just compare the MRI? X

hi

try not to get all stressed out as that only makes symptoms worse.

just wait for results if you have any ongoing investigations

and if you don’t, go and mither (good northern word) the cr*p out of your gp.

try to relax - i know it’s not easy with your health worries and 2 babies but if you hate ironing - don’t iron.

if you love having a nap when you’re babies have theirs - have a nap.

the world will keep on turning. (i’d be in trouble if it didn’t because i haven’t ironed anything in 8 years)

magnesium spray (holland and barrett) is good for rubbing into your legs.

take some time for yourself once your babies are sorted.
