Hi everyone i dont know if anyone can help me ?
I currently have tysabri sub cut injections once a month and my child is 15 months old.
My problem is, ive suddenly lost my child care that used to allow me to go and have my injections, which usually takes around 20minutes. Will the hospital allow me to take my child with me ? And can they refuse to treat me ?I literally have no other option, none of my family live within 40 miles of me and my partner works away.
Ive read horror storys that tysabri should not be stopped as can cause progression to get rapidly worse, so switching is put of the question.
Any help on this topic would be grately appreciated
Think I would just take the child with me if no other option.
Don’t panic. It’s the nurses you need to ask. I’m sure they will help if they can. But don’t worry too much if you have to delay your injection for a week or two. Like you, I am very keen to keep the gaps to a minimum, but over my many years on Tysabri, I have been a week late a few times. Bear in mind too that some people have their Tysabri only 6-weekly and the research seem to show that most people do perfectly well on that regime, although I must admit that I need it 4-weekly.
Do you think they can stop me bringing her though ? Like legally ? Ive tried looking online but cant find answers.
I asked them before if i could do 6 weekly and they flat out refused as they said they wernt allowed to ? As that would work for me as my partner works 3 on/3 off offshore so i would be able to do that.
