This is my first post. My husband was diagnosed with MS over 20 years ago. We were married in 1972. He was 21 and I was 19. Over past 20 years his MS has progressively gotten worst. But now for the past year around the full moon each month he becomes lethargic. Almost unable to manage getting up to get on walker. Falls and stays in a unable to move, have had to call 911 4 times in 2 months just to get him up to get back in bed. This morning was no exception and after 911 people I checked the date and yep full moon tommorrow!!! There has to be a connection with this happening to him. Right now, he is acting like an invalit says take me to the hospital!!! He thru up peeing in bed and would move when I try to help him. Last month this happened and after a few days he snaps out of it and becomes better. I donāt know what to do anymore.

HI peter a year ago you wrote how is everything?
I see that your post is a little old, but Iāll share this anyway. Iāve had TN since 2002 and I think youāre onto something. Since Iāve had it I noticed something. There were some times that I missed a dose of medication and it didnāt seem to matter. I started cutting back my daily dose, but still kept some in my system, until I felt the pain coming on. It seemed like it was an up and down curve for about 7 days, about once a month. I always kind of wondered if it had something to do with the moon, and I think Iāve confirmed that. The pain kept me up last night and I realized there was a full moon. Then after sunrise, which coincides with moonset, the pain was gone. That would explain why the pain has always been worse at night. Iām sure youāve searched all over the internet for anything about this, and found nothing about this except your post.
I donāt know what you can about it other than make sure you donāt miss a dose when the moon is full or increase your dose, but you have to be carefull with that, if it even does any good. I donāt know what youāre on, but one of the side effects of my med is staggering. I overdosed once and had such a loss of balance that I couldnāt crawl on my hands and knees without falling over.Turned out it wasnāt the TN.It was actual dental pain. I went to ER and they just kept me there until it wore off.
By the way, I was taking Carbazazepine until I found a thing online about Oxcarbazepine, which was supposed to have lesser side effects. It works fine once I figured out the dosage. Started with 2 300mg every 6 hours, but it wasnāt lasting 6 hours. Checked out the half-life and time to take effect and switched to one every 3 hours. Much better.
Donāt think the wonderful world of medical science is going to care until they find a way to profit from it.
Good luck
