I understand that you feel as though it is “giving in” but it’s just a tool. You wouldn’t clean the carpet with a hand brush if there were a vacuum available nor work out your budget with logarithms. A wheelchair has an emotional aspect but it’s like freedom in a package. The first time I went into town with my daughter in my powerchair (after years of being pushed) she said, “gosh mum it’s like you’re able bodied again!”
