not diagnosed awaiting neuro
in the last few days i have been getting a feeling as if someone is holding my throat, like a choking feeling. I can still eat and drink normally but this pressure has been coming and going. i have a range of other symptoms too most recently being numbness in fingertips and bicep twitching randomly…
i ended up in hospital in the summer with chest tightness which felt like someone was sat on it and told it was anxiety (lasted 2 weeks on and off)
does this sound like a ‘hug’? can you get throat hugs?

I get the same thing. 2021 I went to a&e several times because it felt like an anaconda was wrapped around my chest squeezing me. They said it was “anxiety” as well because they did chest x rays, ecgs, blood tests, checked my heart etc…. And said I was fine. Until I had an emergency MRI done and they found lesions on my brain and spine and I was diagnosed with MS ending of 2021. My neurologist told me the heavy feeling in my chest was unfortunately the MS hug which I still get now on and off and has now travelled into my throat where it feels like I’m being strangled.
I will soon be having an MRI ending of March 2023 with contrast to see what’s happening plus I’m on Kesimpta

Thank you for replying… its so hard because i have a list of strange symptoms that could all be explained as something else so its the not knowing that is the worst.
Can i ask what are your symptoms?

Apologies for really late reply. My symptoms mainly is tightness in my chest. Been having it on and off since 2021 but has been much worse this year (2023) I’m having a ct scan of my heart in august just to confirm or rule out any issues there.
