Suggestions or Advice

I am trying to (positively) look at things I can do and decided to try bowls. The people are lovely and I couldn’t ask for more support. But, and there is ALWAYS A BUT I have a tremor in my hands and when I try to bowl the wood from the wheel chair my hand shakes and the ball goes all over the place! I have tried a golf type glove for a better grip and I have bought and tried a wrist brace but that doesn’t help. Has anyone else had or overcome a similar problem, if so, please let me know how.

Apologies in that I have no advice, but when I started reading your post I mis-read as usual and thought “Ah typo, this might get messy”. It wasn’t and it hasn’t.

Good luck, Wb x

Sorry I do not have personal experience of tremors - however I met someone at hospital and she had tremors. She mentioned drugs to reduce the tremors? Sorry don’t know more than this, Hope you get asolution - great that you have found something so positive and sociable. Good luck

As usual I might be talking out my head but just as they do with disabled bowling they have a chute/ramp. Where you put the bowl on the chute depends how fast it goes and you aim the chute in the direction you want the ball to go.

Just an idea; good luck

[/quote] I have read on here that some people with tremors take Baclofen. This is a drug which can help to reduce tremors. Ask your GP about it - or google it first. Might help. R

Hi, I have bee suffering with the tremors for the last 3 weeks. Have been given a low dose of Beta blockers, half a tablet twice a day and they do seem to be helping. They are called Sumial (propranolol ) and I take half with breakfast and half with supper being 40 mg per day. Hope it helps xx
