Happy Thursday everyone,
Currently having a short course of intravenous steroids as a day patient (Methylprednisolone 1 g daily intravenously for three days), for prolonged recent relapse - on day 2 of 3 and all going well.
Had a lumbar puncture yesterday afternoon, and was fine until the evening but then had quite a bad headache. Sleep helped (although didn’t get much), however the headache has returned during the course of the morning. Going to check with the nurse if paracetamol is okay to take while on steroids.
How has everyone else’s experiences been with steroids (if you’ve had any)?
Sorry to hear about your relapse hopefully the roids do the trick! Headaches are common but mention it to the nurses so they are aware. Paracetamol is fine too as I had it when I was last in hospital. Hopefully that and some rest at home after will sort you out x

Thank you @Fatgirlthin83, I’ve spoken with the nurses about the headaches, and I’m all good to take 1000mg of paracetomol until the headaches wear off. This heatwave really isn’t helping matters either! But at least there is air con in the hospital. Going to take it easy the rest of the day. Hope you’re well x

Hi, sorry to hear that you have relapsed. When I had my LP before diagnosis I was told to drink plenty of fluids afterwards, think I was offered a cup of tea too. Paracetamol was recommended for any headaches, which if I recall can be common after a LP.
I had a 5 day course of steroids after 2 bouts of ON, but fortunately had no adverse side effects.
Hope you’re on the mend soon.
Retro.
