Recommendations For Foot -Wear Stores That Specialise With Disability .

Hello. Can any one recommend to me any stores that specialise in foot-wear for people with foot-drop and who wear foot splints.
Thank you

Hi there - you should speak to the Neuro Rehab Physiotherapist to get a recommendation. Good luck

you need to see an orthotic who will assess your need for splints. i went and they realised as i cant wear shoes it would be a no go. they should be able to advise you i would have thought.

Sorry, I can’t help. It’s hard enough getting shoes on my fat feet now I’m a full time wheelchair user. Buying shoes to accommodate a splint as well must be difficult.

One of the many advantages of FES is that you can wear the ingenious device with normal shoes. Ask your GP to refer you for assessment and see if helps.

Hi,
I wear a toe off orthotic.

My orthotic person recommended Lonsdale Leyton trainers in half a size up from your usual size.
They need to have a long tongue so that you can either put the orthotic in the shoe first or put the orthotic on and slide into the shoe.
Others are Skechers just with no fastening.

All a bit tricky if you don’t know what sort of orthotic you’re getting.
