Rebif side effects

So took my 2nd rebif injection yesterday which went ok but this morning my legs are both really painful and stiff my right hand is really weak and I feel generally groggy I had this reaction after my 1st injection but this is so much worse, I’m only starting on the low dosage as well, taking painkillers before and after hasn’t worked, I start a new job tomorrow and I’m due to take another injection Monday night. Basically I’m going to stop now as I won’t be able to function the next day if I continue so I’m probably not going to be offered anything else but I realise now that this is all down to trial and error and after taking Copaxone for 4 months and coming off that due to a particular bad reaction I do wonder what’s the point. Quality of life on these DMD’s is appalling. Has anyone else just stopped taking whatever they are on?

I do feel for you. I’ve been so lucky with the DMDs I’ve had - I was on Rebif for 8 years with no marked side effects until it stopped working for me (2 relapses in quick succession) and the Tysabri I’ve been on since has similarly given me no side effects. Some of us are (unfairly) lucky. Give Rebif a while as it does take some time to get used to - and do use your MS nurse - that’s what they’re there for! I wish you all the luck in the world with whatever you do next. xx

Thanks for your replies, yes I feel a bit unlucky at the moment and I would like to continue on the rebif to give it a chance but as I’m starting a new job I can’t risk being so badly affected by the reaction which is still not great 24 hours later where I would have to go sick straight away. I will contact my nurse tomorrow and let her know what’s happened and take it from there I suppose.
