I was diagnosed with MS on 13/8/2018 but not really had any symptoms, other than told I had brain scarring, other than overactive bladder - can anyone advise please ?
Have you seen a neurologist or MS Nurse since you diagnosis 7 years ago? They will have your diagnosis - PPMS, RRMS or SPMs
If that’s your choice then it probably doesn’t matter too much, because DMT’s are not suitable treatment for either, unless MS is active.
Did you ever have relapses?
Used a DMT in the past?
The only real answer is to ask your neurologist for confirmation.
My neurologist says MS is MS and doesn’t think the current categories are helpful.
No where in my medical records does it say what type of MS I have.
I’m on Copaxone which would suggest RRM but to my knowledge I’ve never had a relapse . I was diagnosed at 59 and my symptoms are ongoing and only getting worse.
My neuro thinks I’ve had MS for many years and looking back I tend to agree.
