It is shame that they cannot see past the end of their noses in most cases…we are told to be honest but say how we are on worst days.
If you can walk 20 metres once they assume you can do it all the time…so you have to think about that and say how it would be for you if you had to keep repeating that etc.
Minefield … sacking ATOS shows it was not working correctly, too many appeals.
If “they” can,t get it right after training how can we.
Some doctors trained to do atos exams then resigned because they were told not to pass so many people for benefits…the whole thing imo has been a shambles and unjust in many cases.
Yes, Anonymous you are right… The ATOS health professional asked me if I went to the supermarket and I said I could if I just wanted one item and planned my route with someone to accompany me but that it was not something I did often and last time I had done this to get a present for my granddaughter I was so fatigued I couldn’t get out of bed for 3 days. I also told her that I use a mobility scooter mostly for this type of activity. The decision maker said had told the interviewer that I could shop in the supermarket unaided and this was the reason he believed I could walk 20 - 50 metres. Also I said I could use the microwave to warm up food that has been prepared for me and left on a plate. The decision maker concluded that I could prepare and cook a conventional meal using a microwave without help and so gave only 2 points. Be careful what you say you can do and always qualify it if it causes pain, fatigue, takes a long time or puts you at risk you need to make it clear and ask the interviewer to note it down in their report. Good luck to all. I will let you know how my reconsideration/appeal goes.
Pip are dragging there feet abit i applied ages ago and still no response
I applied at the beginning of December and I’m still waiting! Haven’t even met them for an interview yet! Long back logs
Yes I applied September, and in March I complained to my local MP who contacted DWP. I was interviewed by ATOS 7th April and got my award notice 16th May. BTW just noticed my award is only for two years. Is this usual?
I got standard on both without diagnoses how do I go about getting enhanced once diagnosed as my mobility is very limited. Thanks.
