OMS. Is anyone else following this?

is there any empirical scientific evidence that proves that anything we may take be it DMD, vitamin supplements, special diet etc. actually helps?

As around three-quarters of the research is funded by the drugs companies who stand to make major profits selling them you can draw you’re own conclusion on DMDs.

My sister who also has MS, for over 15 years was asked a few years ago by her neuro if she wanted to be involved in a trial, it was a trial that included many countries and was trialling a new DMD.

She was told about its side affects, and possible other illnesses’ that could be triggered, some very nasty, she discussed everything with her husband and family and decided to be involved.

Participants were divided and some were given the new drug and others a placebo, the only people that knew which participant was taking the drug and which was taking the placebo was the drug company, NOT the MS clinic.

NOBODY including her neuro knew who was taking the trial drug or placebo.

I think if I remember correctly (it was a good few years ago), that the trial lasted 12 months and the results took another year to be released back to the individual MS clinics, during the trial my sister was having regular contact with her MS clinic and did indeed report she was feeling better in herself and seemed to show a slight decline in her MS symptoms.

When the results were released my sister, and in fact the whole MS clinic were surprised to find that even though a small number of participants were involved from the MS clinic they had all been all given placebo’s, and more surprising was that nearly all showed positive results in regards to their MS symptoms.

This was all done a number of years ago, and since then my sisters MS has slightly deteriorated, she did actually have a relapse not long after being give the results of the trial and spent a little while in hospital.

So anyway it does make you think that perhaps sometimes the mind can be ā€œtrickedā€ into healing the body ?

The real trick though is not to let the mind find out it’s been tricked !!!

I believe you can indeed think yourself better to some degree( I don’t mean cure) I mean placebo. The same mechanism applies to thinking yourself ill. Giving up control to doctors is a sure fire way to become a victim of this illness. Taking control, lifestyle, diet and dmds if suitable is I believe the best multi disciplinary approach. Dermot O’Connor ā€˜Healing Code’ is another great example alongside Jelenik.

B vitamins are water soluble and excess will be washed away. B12 however is very difficult to absorb from tablets. Sublingual tabs may help if you are not eating animal fat I.e vegetarian or vegan as it’s only food source of B12. Magnesium is good for cramps if you have them, also good for mental health. I would supplement when needed but not daily. There’s no preventative reason.

VitD however is actually a hormone and is crucial in many bodily functions. I’m convinced alongside omega 3 it’s the key to MS.

People at the equator don’t have MS.

Shetland and Faroes same latitude. Shetland has highest incidence in the world, Faroes not. Faroes eat fish, Shetland eat the western omega 6 diet which leads to inflammation.

If if nothing else the omega balance and vitD is what I think the best bet for nearly all modern day diseases. Especially the autoimmune ones.

I am finding this really interesting.

I was diagnosed with ms 12 years ago.Having decided that medication alone cannot be the only help

I have also looked into diet and supplements,

most seem similar in their approach .

I do believe though that they make sense and are worth a try.
