Ocrevus Side Effects

Hi guys!

I’m just wondering how other people feel after having ocrevus treatment. I had my 2nd full dose treatment yesterday and today I just feel completely wiped out. I have zero energy to do anything, and I just want to sleep.

Also, I’ve noticed around 2-3 weeks before my treatment is due, I get “old MS symptoms” back and I really struggle with them. I’m just wondering if anyone else gets this?

Hi E.C,

I started Ocrevus this summer and finished part two of the first dose in July. I did feel incredibly tired after both doses. The first 1/2 dose more so (I slept off an on for 3 days). I’ve heard from other folks that this is quite common, but everyone is different. I have a FB friend who brought her laptop and worked during her infusion and was back at her desk the next morning! Meanwhile, I took a week off work after both 1/2 doses. Listen to your body - sleep is sometimes the best healer.

I can’t comment on the symptoms as I’m not due my second dose till January, but interested if anyone else feels this way?

Unfortunately, Ocrevus is not for me. I just had my first infusion. It was interrupted (I only got 13%) because I was:

  • Vomiting
  • Had diarrhea
  • Shaking from the cold
  • Pain in the lower abdomen (like cramps)
  • I was sleeping the whole time and was agitated.

I just finished my period, but something continued a little bit after for 3 more days! The pain was only during the infusion, and it was bad! It was strange.

Background: Diagnosed in 2021, I was in my early 20s. I am 36, and I have a normal life. My attacks are rare, and I’ve recovered 95% from all of them. I walk, work a lot, travel a lot, dance, etc… My MRI is bad, though, and there is a decreased brain volume.

I do not react to Solymedrol well either. It is actually awful. I had them only 3 times, 1/2 doze 2-3 days.

I pray and self-pamper for many years now. I buy myself flowers, cakes, fruit, do my hair, etc.

Sending love to you!
