Hi there, anyone any experience of catching a mild cold prior to an infusion? Will they still go ahead ? I’ve had 1st dose of ocrevus and am due to have 2nd dose but have caught a very mild cold, just post nasal drip mostly slight headache nothing major. Worried they may not do 2nd and what the implication would be not having it spaced 2 weeks if have to re-schedule. Thanks
Hi, I’m on Ocrevus and am due my 2nd full infusion in Jan.
They will only not allow treatment to go ahead if there’s an infection present, a mild cold won’t affect anything.
If medication were ever refused on the grounds of someone feeling slightly off, nobody with MS would ever be treated!
Hi thank you for your reply. I was due tomorrow for 2nd half dose, sorry should have made that more clear initially. I finally managed to get a call back from the ms team and unfortunately my ms nurse said it’s their protocol to postpone my treatment until next week to allow my cold to go! Even though I assured her it was only a mild cold. I was happy to have it, but she said they don’t risk it when there’s any infection present even if just mild, frustrating but fingers crossed it’ll all be cleared by next week
