NOT MS but TABLETS

Good day everyone,

I am having annoying problems with my Hudl 2 which I use every day for everything…chatting and posting on here, ordering my meds, ordering my caths, tesco or sainsbury orders , car insurance etc etc

So it is just over a year old and looks like I need to replace it.

My life would be a lot harder without it, so my question is does anyone have any pro,s or cons on small inexpensive tablets please ?

I got this one for £ 50 ish using my coupons but looks like they no longer sell them.

I certainly cant afford an ipad or any other high price one but if you have any advice on good/ bad points I would be really grateful.

Many thanks

Elljay

I’m not big into technical things, but I got an ASUS tablet two years and at xmas. €130 and is great. Currys/PC World staff were knowledgeable and helpful. I couldn’t afford an iPad and can’t understand the difference in them anyway!

Same here Poppy, I think you pay a lot for the name.

Thanks for your reply I will look at their website before this thing dies completely on me.

I use a laptop when in my recliner and a 7 inch tablet when in bed. It was a cheap argos offer, around £80…could be more now. It`s a good little machine. Had it about 3 years now…quite basic but fine for our needs I reckon.

Have a google on argos…you can always buy now, pay later with no interest charges.

l use a laptop for most of my ‘online’ stuff. My daughter bought it for me about 10yrs ago. The first thing l did with it was ‘go compare’ car insurance and saved £450 on insuring our cars - which more than paid for the laptop. Since then l have been an avid ebay and amazon shopper - which has cost me thousands!!! As l do not get out to the shops - lt has been my lifeline - and an expensive one. Too many bargains to be had.

l was given a Hudl - xmas 2014. lt is good for taking photo’s and videos - but as our broadband is very poor in this village - l can’t do much else with it. Just after l got it they cancelled the ebook scheme - which is what l would have used the most. So l would like something better. Shall look up Poll’s choice.

Very self taught when it comes to all this techno larky. Although, having learnt to touch type- 57yrs ago - now - l was amazed how it all came back - going to say like riding a bike - but l could never ride a bike now.

The Shetland lsles have better broadband then we do in this part of Worcs. 300yds up the lane - and they have ‘fibre-optics’ - ours is still clockwork!! The village is planning to dig their own trench up through the fields to connect with civilisation.

Thanks Poll & Spacejacket.

Will check out argos and just seen a tesco direct deal Alcatel phone plus 7 inch tablet for £49 that seems like a bargain to me.

Never heard of the make though.

Spacejacket I got my hudl mainly for use as a ereader ( but used for EVERYTHING now ) and went on to Kobo books after they stopped the tesco linked book thingy.

They have quite a few free books and lots of cheap ones and at least I am less likely to be found suffocating under a pile of books !
