Hi. I was diagnosed with RRMS in Feb after a couple of mild relapses last year. I had (without realising it was MS) had a CiS 20 years ago. The Neurologist letter makes a lot more sense now!
I claimed on my Critical Illness policy with L&G last month and have just been approved. My policy meant I had to have current symptoms for at least 6 months. Unfortunately last year’s relapse left me with left hand sensory issues so that was a tick. I had an awful relapse in April which meant I had to buy a wheelchair and crutches but I responded well to 5 day steroids (no side effects). Hope to start Kesimpta in June.
Hi there. Sorry to hear about your April relapse and hope it hasn’t left any significant problems. I’m not on Kesimpta but from everything I read it seems to be pretty effective. Hope all goes well for you
I’m glad that your claim has been accepted. One less thing to worry about.
I’ve put in my claim to Scottish widows and so far they have written to the consultant. I have had weakness in my right leg since my first ‘episode’ last April. So I’m hoping that’s enough for the claim to have a positive outcome. Have another for Aviva which I’ll follow up once I hear from Scottish widows. The forms are so lengthy so I’ve been putting that one off. Thankfully Scottish widows was just a conversation over the phone. I hope you get a positive result from your claim.
I hope you get a speedy and positive outcome from both. I wrote to my consultant highlighting my current and persistent symptoms just in case she didn’t recognise me from the details. I was lucky, my consultant must have replied really quickly to the insurers. I know other people haven’t been so lucky.
Are you on treatment for your MS?
Yes. Definitely:-)) Thank you
Thank you! Are you on any treatment?
Hi there. Yes I am: I’ve been on Avonex for 18-19 years
I had a call from Scottish Widows and my claim has been approved. Money will be transferred within 7 days. Now to tackle the next one
I hope that you’re finding it keeps the symptoms in check
That’s fab news! Best of luck for the next one
