Hey Jemma, I so hope and pray that the rebif helps to get your symptoms under control. Does a change in your diet help any? I’ve been taking krill oil high in omega 3 and eating more oily fish, trying to cut down on dairy products and I’ve been having high fibre breakfast too. I have felt better for it. But my symptoms are certainly not as severe as yours. I’m don’t blame you at all for being annoyed at that woman its totally understandable you must be very frustrated Jemma. Sending you a big hug of the nice kind. Let us know how you get on with the rebiff and when your operation is, I’ll be thinking, hoping and praying for you. Ess xxx
Hi, I get ‘hug’ quite a bit… awful… but here is a ‘copy and paste’ list of tips that might be useful:
It’s a spasm of the small muscles between the ribs. Here are some tips that might help:
· Much worse in heat
· Much worse when fatigued or stressed
· Don’t wear a bra (it irritates the muscles)
· Don’t wear tight clothing… the looser the better
· Avoid large meals… little and often is better
· Lie down in/on bed if you can… and lying completely flat often helps
· Take 2 Paracetamol… if you are not on other pain med’s
· Try controlling your breathing… deep in through the nose and slowly blow out of mouth… and try and relax whole body while doing it
· Stay as cool as you can but don’t have cold shower… luke warm is better
· Rest, rest, rest and then get some more rest (if at all possible)
· Gently rub the affected area. It might feel like it’s bruised… don’t worry, that’s normal
Hope it helps,
Pat x
Sounds like you need to see a continence advisor who actually understands neurology! Pelvic floor exercises?!?! GRR!!!
Do ask your MS nurse about a referral to someone who knows about MS - hopefully they will be able to help.
I’m confused about the morphine / Rebif thing. I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure there are lots of MSers on both and I’m wondering who told you this? Do check with your MS nurse. [A quick check of www.drugs.com shows a major interaction between tramadol and Rebif, but I can’t see morphine on there.]

Hello Rizzo I was told this by my doctor but my doctor also told me I’m not intitled to the flu jab on the nhs because I’m not in the risk criteria … Yet 3 people I no with ms were given the jab because they have ms, so I don’t believe much that comes out his mouth! And the woman I saw was because of a referral done by my ms nurse, xx
