MS and memory

I take Ginko biloba which is a herbal tablet. I found the brain fog really bad but have been taking these for years and it helps.

Yeah my dad is very bad with his memory. He was taking tablets for an infection a couple of weeks ago, i told him to take a tablet, i watched him look at the clock on the mantle piece then look at the clock on the back wall. half an hour later i asked him what time he took he tablet? he couldn’t tell me, he guessed a few times and was wildly out.

His mobility car is being replaced next month, i must have told him the date 15 times before he remebered it.

These are just 2 examples, i could be here all day listing more.

Hi Laura,

I had what i thought was ( for me) serious lapses of memory and not being able to absorb things very quickly. I told my neuro and he referred me to a neurological psychologist to do some tests to see how bad I was. In the event, it wasn’t as bad as I thought, but it is all very subjective. If your brain works at an optimum level, apparently even the slightest change will be noticeable to you. I am glad I went as i picked up some tips to help with work.

If you are starting on a uni course, have a word with your neuro or GP ( and don’t take no for an answer)and ask for just such an assessment with a neuro psychologist so that if there are any problems they can suggest strategies to help. Don’t not give up your course.

Hope this helps.

Hi Alison,

What tests did the Neuro Psychologist do with you?

I’m waiting for an appointment with one, my MS nurse has referred me.
