Hi I was speaking to someone who has been diagnosed and the MRI also showed a pituitary cyst. I am yet to be diagnosed but they found a pituitary cyst as well in my initial MRI .just a random thought but wondering if anyone else has also detected a cyst and have MS could there be a link?

Hi I have never thought of a link ! I was diagnosed with MS in 2014 just 3 years ago I changed Consultant as my previous one was a very obnoxious rude man, apparently he is known for this But anyway my new Consultant arranged a new MRI scan stated a pin head new lesion and that I had a cyst on my pituitary gland? I had never been told about this before even after 4 other MRI scans.
I think these cysts can come and go so it’s possible it wasn’t there before.
I was diagnosed with a prolactinoma (pituitary tumour) in around 2009 and took medication for raised prolactin. My MRI in 2022 showed that this tumour had gone but there was a new pituitary cyst.
I haven’t been diagnosed with MS but I do have symptoms that I’m still concerned about.
