Hi all, First time on here & hoping for some guidance/information. I went to GP’s Monday with my right foot dragging & numbness in the leg but no pain at all. Dr’s questions highlighted that yes, I have weird vibrating sensation in my pelvic area, yes my vision is blurry & yes my coordination is a bit off. Dr has made urgent referral for a brain MRI. I was diagnosed B12 deficient March 2013 & have a jab for that every 12 weeks. Google it seems is not my friend & has served to scare me mostly. I’d appreciate some good old fashioned honesty & some advice. I’m a bit anxious, it’s the not knowing that’s driving me a bit crazy. Oh, I’m 48, not sure if that’s relevant or not. Thanks & regards.
It sounds like you have a great GP, who’s pushing to get to the bottom of this. Know what you mean about google not being your friend! I personally am not diagnosed and wouldn’t attempt to guess what so causing this for you, but do be encouraged that your GP is getting things moving. Sorry it’s scary, and can sympathise. Especially with the walking and feet issues as they are vey hard to ignore. Hope the scan comes through quickly for you. Keep us posted.
Hi Kristina.
I,m 49. Is it MS or not, really sorry but no one here can answer that question.
The good thing is you have been referred for an MRI and obviously you have a good GP
I don’t have a diagnosis for MS either, under investigation currently and have been for nearly 18 months now. There are many, many things that mimick MS but thankfully are not as serious.
Try not to worry, wait and see what the MRI results show, and even if they do show any lesions, that still doesn’t mean its MS and you will probably need more investigation.
One thing I wish i’d known when I started this journey, and thats why i’m telling you now, please don’t expect quick results, sometimes it happens but more often than not it takes time to diagnose these things.
As for age, don’t think it makes much difference, you are experiencing things that may not be age related. Hang in there hun, hope you get the MRI soon. xxx
It could be quite possibly that you are not getting enough B12. If you look on the pernious anemia society there are petitions to increase the amount of B12 injections people are getting. With some symtoms of B12 only go away with more regular injections (once a week). GPs tend to tow the line but there is more and more evidence that some need much more especially if there has been some nerve damage. Martyn Hooper runs the society and he writes books, he struggled for some time. He injects himself every other day with ACTIVE B12 (methycobablin), not the standard one that you get in the GP surgery.

Hi there Only just managed to get back on the forum to post (lost my password and then couldn’t get the link to work to reset it) but have been visiting to read posts. Your rang a chord so I tried again to reset my password and it worked! I’m also 49 and not dx with more than CIS as yet. Like you, I often wonder whether symptoms are age related or not. I’ve had a really bad week with serious fatigue, tingling hand and a kind of ‘buzzing’ in my feet (can’t really explain that properly, buzzing is the closest I can think of). I am using my private medical insurance to try and progress thinks more quickly but even so, it’s taking time for things to happen. My B12 is borderline low so at my recent neuro appointment (following issues at GP surgery I changed to another GP practice and my new Dr Wanted a second opinion) he has suggested injections so seeing I’m my GP about that next week. Ophthamology appointment coming up soon too as optician not happy about vision and some visible ‘damage’. As others have said, it’s a long and sometimes confusing road, made all the harder when you don’t always know what to tell others that notice that all is not as it once was (I’ve lost 2 stone in 4 months and often visibly ‘wobble’ on my feet in the office). Hang in there. ((Hugs)) Susie
