Ill Health Retirement and Ending Work

Hi, I am secondary progressive, also have ulcerative colitis, and neuropathic bladder which means I have to have a suprapubic catheter permanently. It’s my final AMI on Friday and the result will be my employment will end as all adjustments have been exhausted over years and I simply cannot work anymore it’s now impossible. I have given it my all since my diagnosis over 20 years ago but I now know it’s time, occ health have said this in their report too. I’m petrified about the future, I will apply for ill health retirement through the LGPS scheme but it sounds like a minefield, I’ve also had many different consultants and I’m scared they don’t know me well enough for them to give a full report. The stress of it all is making my health even worse. Has anyone got any advice you could give me, did you get your own solicitor? Thank you.

Wish I knew the answer to that as well, as I have secondary progressive MS as well and currently unemployed.
