I guess it is a relapse

Hi all, hope you will forgive me for having a moan. I just feel horrible, I am bone weary and feel like I have run a marathon. Actually I have never run a marathon so just guessing. My energy levels are zero, I am really struggling to type this. I always feel worn out but this is more than that, I can’t do anything for more than ten mi utes. I am crashing after every attempt. I am getting constant hits of bad burning on my scalp, worse than usual and so severe I feel faint. Nerve pain and nausea off the scale. Trying to decide if I should beg gp for steroids as I don’t have an Ms nurse. Thanks for letting me vent. Take care all Ell

I hear you.

hope it turns around as quick as possible.

all the best.

Hi ell, sorry you’re feeling so awful. Do go and see your GP, first off so relapse is recorded on your notes.your gp will need to contact your consultant to prescribe steroids. I’m in 2 minds about steroids after acouple of courses, they can make an immediate difference to your symptoms but depends how intense they are, got rid of my optic neuritis but did little to improve my walking/fatigue and trouble is although u improve on 5days taking them feel like I crashed horribly in weeks after. But u need to figure out with GP"S help what’s best for u. You’re entitled to help and to ms nurse help for that matter. Hope relapse eases soon, take it as easy as u can. Froo x

hi Ell - I’m going through something similar at the moment - fatigue, nausea & numbness in my right arm - the joys - hopefully it will pass.

Got a phone consult with gp, he is of the opinion that it may already be too late for steroids to help as they need to be taken ASAP on relapse so have decided to just carry on as I am. I agree with you Froo that they can seem to cause an even greater crash after course and since they probably won’t help with this disabling fatigue etc best to give them a miss. Much as I wish no one was suffering anything like this it is still kind of reassuring to know I am not alone in a funny kind of way. You will know what I mean. Thanks for your replies. Ell
