Hi everyone,
I was referred to the St George’s MS service on 28 April after MRI findings highly suggestive of MS, and my diagnosis has now been confirmed privately.
Since then I’ve completed extensive investigations privately including PET-CT, lumbar puncture and autoimmune screening, and I’m currently waiting for the NHS MS clinic appointment to discuss ongoing management and treatment options.
I know every case and hospital is different, but I was wondering how long people usually waited between referral and actually being seen by the MS team?
Thank you

Hi @maria.decrescenzo i think that the answer to your question is as you say ‘it depends’. It might be that someone here has experience of St George and of going down the private route first which as I recall, some people have said doesn’t speed things up at all.
Personally, I’ve no idea . My diagnosis was all done through the NHS and was around 19 years ago so of little relevance

I was diagnosed by nhs in April and referred for treatment early this month. The waitlist for this hospital is saying average for treatment is 20 weeks with some people waiting 41 weeks.
Edit to add, the hospital i have been referred for treatment is not same as yours so you may see different wait times. I found the information through the nhs app on waiting list section
