I’m confused about how Drs dx ms, I’ve got 1 brain lesion, symptoms over 10 yrs and I’m having lp in a couple of weeks, can the Drs dx if lp normal? How did you all get your dx? Thx

I’m afraid most of us on the forum have found diagnosis to be a long-winded affair. It’s necessary to do a lot of tests, and often repeat them more than once. But at least your testing is underway, so try to be patient. I know that’s difficult, but hang in there.
Diagnosis is made according to something called the McDonald criteria. Here’s a link… McDonald criteria | MS Trust

Thx Ben, I’ve seen this but my brain is refusing to process it, one of the many symptoms! x
To answer your original question: I was diagnosed with a normal LP, a delay on Evoked Potentials, and multiple lesions on brain and spine MRI - with progression found on repeat scans about a year later.
