I had my diagnosis on 28th September 22 so early days. Bit of a blur to be honest.
My consultant said that in around two weeks from diagnosis I would be starting on tacfidera and it would be sent by courier to me & I would hear from my MS nurse.Its only been 9 days but feel confused. Will medication be by courier each time or is it just once and then Iād need GP to prescribe? Thank you
Tecfidera is distributed by specialist pharmacies. It can only be prescribed by a consultant who is a specialist in MS at select centres.
Your first delivery will have a a set of capsules at reduced strength.
Your MS Nurse should explain all this to you before you take your first capsule and the need for blood tests
It all seems to work reasonably. I was lucky and after taking the advice of eating something fatty with each capsule at breakfast and tea time never had any serious problems a little flushing was about it.
