Hi my I’m new to this.
I have m.s secondary progressive m.s i suffer with headaches every single day.
Can last all day.
Waje up with them znd worse when go to bed.
Is snyone out there whos tried all tablets ,muscle relaxation tabs and all headache tablets etc…
Nothing touches them.
With all other problems with m.s this is making life not good as dont let up. Seen neurologist say to do with nerve ending. And pain clinic. So if anyone suffers got a solution be so grateful. Thanks.
Hi Glitterball, and welcome
I tend to get a lot more headaches than i used to, too.
Things that seem to work for me include:
- a shaped, orthopaedic pillow (pm me for link, the mods blocked it last time I posted it - they can be zealots!) to present your neck at an optimised angle
- aromatic substances on the forehead & temples, such as 4Head or lavender oil
- a cool gel insert for pillow (in addition to the special pillow, above)
Have you tried any of these?
Graeme
Hi thanks for reply.
I have tried that. So much more. Tablets don’t help or touch it.
Everyday i suffer.
Its hard to suffer with all other stuff that i have with m.s.
Thank u again.
A few years ago I was suffering terrible headaches on a daily basis. Exactly as you described. No amount of pain relief even touched it. I would wake up with it and go to bed with it. It turns out that the majority of these were not MS related, but actually a sensitivity to certain chemicals in my personal products. Namely salicylates and benzoate’s. Since cutting these out, I have been much much better. Now the headaches I get can be managed by the suggestions made by GCCK as well as pain relief, walking, fresh air, distraction and relaxation techniques.
It is very tempting to write of all symptoms as MS. Are you sure it is?

Hi,
I really sympathise, I have suffered from increasingly awful headaches. I ended up getting good advice from the National Migraine Centre - it’s a charity. I didn’t think I had migraine but it was incredibly helpful. 2 main things I changed. One was to reduce the amount of painkillers I was taking to less that 14 doses ina month, and the second was to take 400mgs of Magnesium and 400 mgs of B2 (I had to get them on the internet) each day. My headaches haven’t gone but the frequency and intensity have really improved. It may not work for you, but could be worth a try. Good luck in finding relief
Hi yes pain clinic and neurologist said too to do my nerve endings. I have tried the other things.
Thank u so much for your help. Take care.
