As some of you may know I started Gilenya last week. Could anyone whos on it tell me if they experienced any side effects from it?
I have been on it a week tomorrow and Ive had a rough few days feeling sick with really bad headaches also dizzyness. Been stressing myself out as whether or not changing meds was the right choice.
I just want to compare before i jump to any conclusions. Do feel a little better the last two days so could this just be a temporary thing?
Hello Kelly, I have been on Gilenya now for 9 months. I have experienced no side effects, cardiology and blood tests fine now. Everyone is different, ring or email your MS nurse, I am sure she will get back to you if too busy as they are so supportive. Hope you feel better soon and the Gilenya is successful for you if you can tolerate it. Helen x
The first week I was on it I had headaches in the evenings and was very tired but it wore off and I’ve been on it four months now and feel normal. My liver function has been a bit all over the place but seems to be settling down now.
hi,kelly. my neuro has changed me from beta-interferon1a to gilenya. im to have ecg tests b4 and during my 1st doses.
ive been in beta-interferon since 99, and its helped so much,unfortunatly im experiencing symptoms that r more severe than before,along with new ones
the current med seems to have clamed it down…?
im wondering wheather to change to gilenya, and hope it was the right desision
ill be interested how u r getting on hun, as i dont want to trigger things by this change. i was ill when i 1st took the injections, which wore off after sleeping(so i had the injection at night ). i still get some side effects like, v sore skin and scalp,also sore teeth!

its evry now and then these things pop up,and the proffessionals know about them!
I’ve been on it 4-5months. I experienced headaches, sicky feeling loss of apetite for about a month. They are listed side effects, but always best to check with your care team. I also had eye pains and chest pains! It mostly settled within 4-5 weeks but is a bit scarey, so call and get some reassurance.
