I too heard via a text from NHS Scotland (Greater Glasgow and Clyde region) which simply mentioned ‘winter vaccinations’. On arriving at the centre I was asked a few questions which led to the nurse looking up my DMT and concluding that I should have Covid and Flu jabs.

A bit strange in some ways in so far as in the past it was clear what jabs you would get before arriving at the centre

I’m booked in for flu but will definitely ask the question when I go. Thanks.

No problem at all! Since you’re already booked in for the flu shot, that’s the perfect time to bring it up. They’ll be able to give you the best advice. Hope it goes smoothly

Had both flu and COVID vaccines recently. No side effects with either. Recommended to all.

Just back from getting my flu jab and I asked about Covid but the nurse said they’ve changed the eligibility criteria and therefore something. As far as I could gather I’m now not old enough, which would be cheering news in another context…

Still a youngster then @alison100 :wink:Don’t knock it, old age soon creeps up upon you. Oh and I’m not old enough either. Isn’t it 75 now?

Yes, I think so. Immunosuppression gets you over the line but natalizumab does not it seems.

Thank you @alison100 . I guess it was my age that gave me the Covid jab. 72 early next summer. From an interested point of view I am starting to feel older but it’s so difficult to know : is it MS or age? If you have read the news about the 5 ages of the brain , I’m well into the ‘early ageing brain’ but I should have a few years yet before I reach the ‘late ageing’ brain . Oh well, whatever, what will be will be etc

75 years old or immunosuppressant medication for the COVID jab. Tecfidera got me mine.

I got the COVID jab because I’m about to start immunosuppressant medication (Kesimpta). Taking meds that significantly suppress your immune system makes you eligible for it (and the shingles jab too - criteria have recently changed).

My friend who is an MS specialist neurologist in another area of the country to me said that the NHS has a ‘green book’ which sets out all the eligibility criteria, so you can google that to check.

As I haven’t started the Kesimpta yet, my neurologist wrote to my GP to ask them to give me the vaccines as I’m not technically eligible until I start Kesimpta, but your body produces a better response to the vaccine before you take the drugs than after, hence giving me them before
