Hi all, I posted a week or so ago explaining that an a&e doc had told me it was likely MS. I had an appointment with the neuro this morning who said he was about 70% sure it’s MS but also said there is a possibility it could be a tumour. He has ordered an MRI of my spine and brain. So now it’s a case of waiting for that, he’s put a note to say he wants it done soon so that’s positive. He’s put me on a three day course of steroids which are a high dosage and I’m slightly concerned about any side effects does anyone know if there are any besides putting on weight?! aside of increased appetite, the only thing I experienced was inability to sleep and swelling in the legs on the last few days, I was on a longer course however… 5 days.
other than that, was fine.
imo
steroids can play havoc with your emotions and some people find they get angry (roid rage)
but the benefits are that you feel strong and start to eat well (pretty much anything you can get your hands on)
you go and get yourself better and stop worrying

If you are having IV steroids, I recommend taking a big pack of Murray Mints with you. Steroids give some people the most horrendous taste - I would have been throwing up if not for the Murray Mints!
