I’ve noticed I experience a brief increase in cramps, in the day or two immediately following a dose increase, but overall, no, it only makes me feel better, not worse.
I’m certainly conscious of it when the effects begin to wear off, and it’s getting time for another dose, but I think this is normal.
Could it be that you are just noticing it more, because you have finally experienced what it’s like for it to be better?
I know I did not realise how bad the pain and stiffness had become, until I first took Baclofen - which helped! I compare it to a constant background noise, which you don’t notice…until it stops. I think, because it had been very slow and gradual, I’d actually adapted to living with pain, to the extent I’d accepted it as normal. Taking Baclofen made me appreciate what I’d been putting up with was definitely NOT normal, and that it was possible to treat it. But I suppose the other side of the coin might be you’re more conscious of the pain when it does come back, because now you have something to contrast it with!
Personally, I’ve never felt “high” on Baclofen. It IS a relaxant, so I suppose in theory might have that effect. But again, might it be the relief of discovering some respite from the pain and stiffness? If you’ve put up with something a long time, and you find something that makes it better, in theory that should be mood-enhancing, shouldn’t it?
Just a thought but they may not be worse just before ya next tablet it might be that it the same you always had but is just hitting you quicker so feels worse. Not a doc but I have had this when taking tablets. Doesn’t help but might explain. Xxxrach
If I had to chose only one tablet from my cocktail to keep it would be the Baclofen.
I agree with Rach that the being much worse before your next dose is probably your norm before, but now you have relief from it it is so much more noticeable.
I have played around with my doses and times over the yr and have 10mg to get me going in the morning, but then my lunchtime dose 10mg any time between 12-5 my legs will tell me when they want it. I then have 20mg to go to bed. My gp is happy for me to play around with 60mg in 24hrs as long as there is a 4 hr gap between doses, so I always keep them by the bed in case I need some during the night.
I’m glad you have a bit of something good in your life, but one warning is it took my body a while to accept alcohol with them.
I think in their trial phase and at higher doses they were used with people trying to overcome alcohol addiction,so dont know if that is anything to do with it.I only need low doses of any meds.
I was pleased to battle through this hurdle and can enjoy the pleasures of wine again!
