On my six day of fampridine and got feeling in my foot and leg does anyone know if it just keeps improving would like to hear from other people who take it . thanks Cathy
Hi Cathy, I had the free months trial of fampridine in December. In a answer to your question…yes…for me it did keep on improving. My walking test before starting was 58 seconds, at the end of the four weeks it was12.5 seconds. My MS nurse did the test at the same time and her walking speed was 7 seconds. So although my walking was not quite that of a ‘normal’ person it had improved enormously. I chose not to continue due to a couple of side effects that I considered to be worse than a slow, wobbly and somewhat drunken looking walk. It has taken almost a month for my walking to return to its previous level…and even now I would say it is still slightly better than it was before. My neuro found this very interesting. My friend suggested it had somehow rebooted my brain! I really wish you well and hope that you continue to improve. Would be very interested to know how you feel about it at the end of your trial. Best wishes, Nina
